A Suncadia resort rustic wedding on the mountain side with tones of rustic charm. Meredith and Brenner got married on a gorgeously sunny in early July. We began the planning and design process with Meredith and Brenner about a year out from their wedding date. Meredith and Brenner had a vision in mind for their wedding right from the start. The idea was to create a modern, romantic, outdoor reception that felt natural but still matched the outdoor locale.
Meredith’s background in project management meant she knew how to get things organized! Before meeting she spent time creating a power point presentation to guide us in what she and Brenner were looking for stylistically for their wedding. Three major factors that she and Brenner were adamant on having for their wedding day were; for their guests to have fun, for family to feel special, and for their precious Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lizzy, to be a part of the wedding.
We enjoyed the planning process with this adventurous couple. Meredith and Brenner love the outdoors and traveling, which made the Suncadia Resort the perfect location for their wedding. When deciding on their design elements, Meredith chose a color palette of deep plums, blush, reds and cream tones with copper accents. The feel of their reception was warm and inviting. Tables were styled with cream colored lanterns, copper chargers and mercury votives with compote style floral arrangements of garden roses, ranunculus and sweet peas with lots of foliage. We used wooden place card holders and wood stained signage with white hand lettering to give a bit of rustic charm.
For their ceremony, we chose a simple design concept of lanterns and greenery for the aisle with wine barrels displaying two large statement floral pieces as a ceremony backdrop. With the breathtaking views, we wanted to keep the design simple. It was a stunning effect.
Both Meredith and Brenner are very close with their families so we incorporated a lot of family moments and tributes to and for them. Two of our favorites were before the ceremony when Meredith took her immediate family into a room and read each of them a handwritten letter that she had written. Brenner did the same with his family. There were tears and laughter in abundance in both rooms.
The second was the father/daughter dance. Meredith and her father choreographed a fun dance to a compilation of songs and performed it during the reception. It got huge applause from all of the guests and everyone loved it! Meredith walked down the aisle to a song written and recorded on the piano by her sister he also had her brother officiate the wedding ceremony and he did a such wonderful job tying in so many personal aspects.
We loved that Meredith and Brenner incorporated so many family details; it made every part of the day so much more special. Lizzy did make a special appearance as the “ring bearer” during the ceremony as well.
Meredith, Brenner, and their close friends and family kept the dance floor going until 1am! What an unforgettable and fun filled day! We loved being a part of their special day!
